Ref: "feelings should have merit even if they're illogical"?......uhhhhh, nope!

Not to be rude, but what good are feelings that are not based on logic, in other words, feelings that are not based on truth and reality? I can be afraid all day long of the dam bursting and killing me and my family but if the nearest dam is 2,000 miles away, is this wise? Should I cow-tow to these feelings? Should I celebrate them somehow? Isn't it actually more loving to say "Yes, I know you're scared but you have no need to be"? Isn't that what God does for us?.....calms our irrational fears?
