fans has made it feel like anything less than fully dropping the song is a win for the scum racists. I read an article of all the emails and messages Texas administration has received, and a lot of it is downright disgusting. Obviously, that comes from a vocal minority of fans/alumni, but they've been so loud that if the university keeps the song it will seem that the racists won or that they agree with the racists. Ironically, if the racist fans would've just shut up, the university probably would've just swept this under the rug because, as has been said, the song itself isn't really that big of a deal.
