aren't fond of the Jazz franchise or want to move there. I'd say that players probably feel the same way about MN, Charlotte, and even Toronto (won a title), OKC, Sacramento and Memphis.
Utah doesn't have the clubs, restaurants, booze, partying... that many of the big cities have in abundance. Based on Shaq, those are some things that a majority of players like and participate in. They also aren't a hub for TV, movies or music production.
Utah has a lot of conservative white people.
The Jazz (in the past) have been known more for their system and work ethic and less about showtime and super stardom. Stockton and Malone are two the the best to play the game, but both were also 'boring' by superstar standards.
Also, Utah is a smaller market... so it limits many moneymaking opportunities. Think about Karl Malone, his shoe contract was LA Gear for a while — during his prime. It think that if the Jazz win it all, it will change the perception and may help. Seriously, I didn't know of any Warriors fans until after Curry made them relevant. The Clippers are nearly relevant and they have superstars and are in LA (hadn't been relevant until Griffin and CP3 played there).
