Nobody purposely sets up their offense further from the basket
than they want to. It's a matter of quickness of the defender and the ability of the offensive player to get by.

When you have good shooters that don't do well of the bounce (Toolsen, Knell and often Barcello, Haws) quicker defenders can push the PG out further and force the wings out by denying the pass/handoff. If you have quickness they can't do this.

That is what happened this year against quality p5 guards and we didn't have the personnel to make them pay with a drive or a drive and a kick for an open 3. Haws was effective doing this last year, or pulling up using his height.

In other words we set up way out there because were forced to.
