You’re right, Philly would be bad. Mostly because their coach is a weirdo and Howie has made some dumb choices. I didn’t include them in the “teams selecting a QB” group because their trade back pretty much guaranteed they weren’t trying to take a QB.
Detroit wouldn’t be that bad. I think Campbell will be a solid coach, and Anthony Lynn can guide him a little bit. Lynn wasn’t great in LA, but he’s been there before. He’s also gotten his shot as HC, so he won’t leave unless he’s fired. Continuity with a good OC will be really helpful for a rookie QB. I also think their division is weaker. Chicago needs a QB bad, and their coach is on the hot seat. Minnesota has Kirk Cousins, who’s good not great. And then Rogers is on hiss at hurrah. Not a bad time to come in as a QB.
Carolina is interesting. I think Ruhl is a good coach, and they’ve got some good weapons. I thought they would trade up, but Darnold will be interesting to watch.
