That's why I would only ride the JRP on a recovery ride day. Hammering in the drops needs to be done on roads, not on
narrow, winding trails with lots of pedestrians and dogs. I will say, however, that the Legacy Parkway Trail is an exception to that. You can ride fast there and do it safely, as long as you slow up when passing stroller moms, little kids, and dogs.
