That's because those stats are for the year we didn't play Utah
Given that we're about to match (or break) our record for players drafted in the first 7 rounds this wasn't a normal season for us. Or for Utah for that matter.

2017 Utah had 8 drafted. BYU had 1.
2018 Utah had 1 drafted. We had 1.
2019 Utah had 5. BYU 1.
2020 Utah had 7, BYU none.

This year we'll finally beat them, likely 5 (BYU record) to zip.

That's why we haven't beat them and why this year was the best chance. In the 4 years prior to this, they produced 21 draft picks to our 3. So of course they were beating BYU on the field as well

In the 10 seasons of football since BYU beat Utah, BYU has seen a TOTAL of 6 players drafted. Utah has twice had more than that in a year and has seen 33 players drafted. Getting 5 drafted this year was our most loaded team in a long while while being Utah's worst team in a long while.
