Technically if your emergency fund is in an account that could lose value with
a drop in the economy or market it’s not really what I would call an emergency fund... that’s an investment fund.

An emergency fund should be in a fund that will not lose value regardless of the market fluctuations and should be immediately liquid. Yes you eat it on appreciation and inflation but the emergency fund isn’t designed to increase in value significantly.
