...I've enjoyed your posts on nutrition. I read the book "Living to 100" years ago and realized that improving ones diet is a contributing factor to a long and healthy life but certainly not the only thing but it can add to an accumulative effect if you also don't smoke/drink, if you get enough sleep, if you can minimize stress in your life, if you have laughter in your life, if you have loving relationships with your family members (and are/live close to them), etc. It also takes into account family health history around diabetes and cancer etc.
It's interesting to see how much non-dietary related factors play into a long-life. For fun go to www.livingto100.com and do their calculator. If you have areas in your life that need some improvement you can do the survey over again and see how it changes your outcome when you change your responses.
