It was her third visit to an ER within a year. The German ER was for a slip and fall gash on her forehead; the others were a fall from a tree and impalement on a stick (into her ear) and for a cat scratch when she and her sister decided to try to put the cat in the bath and managed to knock the water line from the toilet loose and set off an old faithful.

Some kids just have a bad combination of adventuring and poor luck.
