I met Max Hall through the Thursday’s Hero program, when I was blessed to go down 2 days before the Oklahoma game. He was so incredibly kind to me, and we maintain a casual friendship where he would stop and talk with me after games that year. I am a nobody, but he treated me with such kindness and respect, at one of the most difficult periods of my life, that it taught me how far a little kindness truly goes.
He probably would not remember me without a little reminder, but listening to the way he has desired to treat fanbase like Charles Barkley had treated him, makes so much sense now. I have always, and will always, look up to him for that experience and there later he was on the field. Seeing what he has done to redeem his life, and help others, make him even greater in my eyes.
