I’d say probably more naive comments than racism.
People say insensitive stuff but it’s not really racist from my perspective. It’s just insensitive because they probably haven’t been around that culture much.
The one that gets me every time is when someone calls Hispanic people “Mexicans”. Immigrants from Central America are from a wide variety of countries that have waay different cultures. Maybe Mexico is the most prominent but it’s definitely naive to call them Mexicans. Latinos or Hispanics is the catch all.
Similar to calling all Asians Chinese.
