Phil Knight funneling money to more than just the athletic department??

Who really knows (and I don't really want to speculate much), but IF something big were to come out on Oregon that resulted in negated wins, lost scholarships, postseason bans, etc. then that would definitely "rock the college football world, ruin legacies, and impact the balance of power out west".
