I served in the mid/late 80's in the Tokyo South Mission...
...heat would get into the 90's but it was the humidity that killed you (monsoon season started in June). The mission rule was we couldn't take our jackets off and go to short sleeves until the mission president did. Problem was, he lived in a nice home with A/C, drove in an A/C car and worked in an office with A/C. Riding bicycles in that weather...ugh....seemed like it was forever before our MP would finally take his jacket off. 😃

I imagine it's different in AZ (dry heat..hahaha).
