I never said ND tried to get out of paying BYU
What I said is they don’t want to pay BYU. There is little doubt that’s absolutely true.
If BYU wanted to get paid, they would ask for a check and I’m confident ND will pay.
It sounds like you agree with me that BYU would prefer a game over a check. ND believes this as well. So as long as ND gives BYU hope that there will be a game in the future they don’t have to pay BYU or play BYU.
