It seems most people don't realize how much health insurance/care would actually cost if their employer didn't
subsidize the premiums.

If you're 40 years old retiring with a large nest egg with a family at home, you better factor in about $20k/year alone just for healthcare costs.

Ask self employed people here with families who are not low income, they'll confirm that number.
