Love your board name 🤣 Also, I agree. We all could at least have a bit more
Compassion and understanding for those who really do have PTSD and fireworks really do send them to an extreme level of anxiety.

A bit more compassion and understanding with animals too because they are completely innocent and don’t know what these sudden loud bangs are, and many dogs are frightened of what they don’t understand, or of loud sudden noises.

That said I don’t think we shouldn’t shoot off fireworks because it scares many dogs. I DO believe however in the owner taking responsibility and learning how to help their dog cope with the loud noise, rather than trying to ruin everyone else’s celebrations. Dogs can be put in a room or a kennel with loud but relaxing music to drown out the explosion sounds, they can be comforted by you (as it is a myth that if you comfort them when they are scared, that you are “reinforcing” it. You can’t reinforce an emotion and fear is an emotion), you can use such things as a “thundershirt” or similar material that can be used as one…..
So yeah, owners should be responsible to manage their dogs response.
