You'll probably be fine most anywhere outside of Santo Domingo - unless you are

up for some adventure! 🙂 It's just crazy driving in that city (like most larger latin American cities). Narrow streets with traffic laws that are less-than-suggestions. I'm not saying don't - just that if your wife is like mine she might have a heart attack.

Just know that there will be a lot of horns honking at you if you try and drive like a polite human being.
