It wasn't a 4-for-2, it was two 2-for-1's. ND cancelled the second 2-for-1
...and Holmoe is trying to trying to get something out of the one game that ND owes BYU from the first contract. At this point, it's pretty clear that ND will never play the return game in Provo, and it gains BYU almost nothing to force them to make the payout. Holmoe is smart to use what leverage he does have to get a quality game that will likely have a good payout and be on national TV in prime time.

Do they even have the option? They still need an ACC game for 2022. And please, it is ND. They are hard to deal with.
