(1) We were satisfied to take possession with the assurance from our lawyer that the escrow agreement protected us. I was assured by the lawyer (he’s the subject matter expert, not me) that we were well protected. Why would I not take his expert advice?! Now he is trying to pressure us to essentially give up that protection. And, he is basically threatening that the sellers might litigate this (which makes no sense as all).

(2) The alternative to closing was risking that we get kicked out of the home and have to find a new one which we were not prepared to do. Closing with the escrow agreement seemed like a nobrainer.
