Attractive men generally are attracted to attractive women. Confident women (because of looks or....) are attracted to confident men. Attractive women are generally athletic and people that put an emphasis on fitness often are attracted to others with a fitness mindset.

You mention NFL: Money and fame also attracts people. I knew a BYU guy that had come into some 'fame' (late 20s). He told me "girls that wouldn't give the time of day last year are very interested in me now."
