This is what I hate.

It's clear that what is happening is crony capitalism. Regulation exists for a reason - even in capitalist societies. We have anti Monopoly laws. We don't expect private insurers to fairly compete with govt health care. Yet, we think individuals should have to compete with billion dollar hedge funds for a private residence? Ok.
