This guy did too, he still had to follow all the rules and attend church for a year with his family though first
He actually got off kinda easy in sentencing because he was a police officer when he did it. He got in a bar fight and shot another guy in the head (only the cops and narcos have guns there)...
Last I checked,the family was doing great, sealed in the temple and all.
