The bar has been lowered to allow the elites to make the playoff each year.
They will continue to dominate recruiting. Playing an additional game against programs like Wisconsin or Washington won’t be a big deal to them.
The 12 team playoff created 2 tiers of FBS. The teams hoping to make the playoff and the teams hoping to win it. As Dabo pointed out there aren’t 12 teams that can win it all. As we’ve seen in the CFP most years there aren’t even 4.
