it was about $5,000 for the higher quality flooring. So that doesn't seem completely outrageous, but maybe a little high.

We did carpet with Home Depot and no problems. Sorry you had a bad outcome.

I’d say $3+ per square foot just for install labor. So depends on tile.

Depends on if you want the cabinets on top of the tile or not. Ours are not.

I didn't remove the cabinets, made sure the tile was up to the under part of the toe guard & sealed off with the grout.
