Texas and Oklahoma were thinking of bolting back in 2011 as well (for the Pac-10), and I know for a fact that BYU's wait-and-see approach (effectively slow-playing the Big XII to see what Texas and the Oklahoma schools would do) rubbed a lot of schools the wrong way and provided the window of opportunity that TCU needed.
