Let it be everyone goes independent and then is rewarded for the games it plays that are carried on media platforms & post season success etc. or even mega-conferences for football only. I think the problems BYU has as far as how most University admin feel about BYU (namely not good due to LDS Church ownership and involvement) could be ameliorated to some extent for the progressive Admin at most universities if the arrangement with BYU is clearly "football" only.
