BYU fans also travel and buy tickets to regions where BYU plays outside Provo, even though the actual site of the game may be multiple states away.
BYU has a ravenous devoted fan base that accounts for the above factors and fits right in with the new paradigm away from geography, cable households, DMA’s and forward with streaming, NIL, brand awareness and self reliance, non deficit spending athletic programs and still keeping rich tradition and history with facilities to match its two major sports, not to mention women’s and Olympic sports.
The pac12 has many Luke warm fanbases, stagnated geography and dwindling athletic relevance nationally.
BYU would be financial asset to the big 12 for these reasons.
