The country was very excited about the USWNT... they were dominating and fun to watch. It wasn't the greatest soccer in the world, but by dang they were probably more popular than the men's team... the women's team had it all.

Then Rapinoe happened... the way the team rallied around her causes and then introduced LGBTQ game days... and then the Christian girl didn't want to wear the rainbow uniforms and she was dismissed from the team... and then the equal pay lie... and the kneeing during the anthem.

The USWNT is still overall dominating, even though they won't take gold... they are still a very good soccer... just now very little care. They overplayed their hand and what made them popular. Call it unamerican to not cheer for them... but they drew those lines themselves.
