My guess - since BYU is affiliated with the church, they expect all the players

to play like choir boys. When BYU players hit them, and in some cases hit them harder than they have been hit before, they are surprised by it and react in an undisciplined way.

Of course, that doesn't apply to schools like Utah State and Utah. They are just looking for something to complain about regarding BYU.
