1. We go for the extra point, but it's blocked and ran back for a score. We then kick off, and they march down for a fast TD in 1 minute. They get the 2-point conversion. We go to OT and lose it there.
2. We kneel it. They march down for a fast TD in 45 seconds. Get the extra point. Then they successfully get the on-side kick. And then they get themselves in field-goal range in 15 seconds. They kick it through. We go to OT and lose it there.
#1 seems more likely. Defensive scores on extra point attempts are rare, but I would say it's more likely than 2 scores in 1 minute, especially when our defense had been playing well and the crowd seemed to have completely disrupted their offense.
I didn't like it at the time, but in hindsight, I think it was the right call.
