That was my initial reaction, but there was no point in leading with his head

After watching the replay, he looked very intentional in leading with the crown of his helmet. Jaren didn't even really have the chance to react to the defender, so it wasn't a leverage or misplacement thing. He clearly led with the crown of his helmet. Not sure why the ASU player would have thought it was necessary to put himself and Hall at risk by tackling that way. That could have ended badly for both players.
