defense going forward? That seems to be what all the POTD posts from yesterday are saying. I guess I don't understand that.
4-0 is awesome. I would not have believed at the start of the season that we would start out 4-0, be ranked 13th in the country, end the streak, etc. Amazing results after the players that were lost from last year's team. Great start to the season. Not a good start. A great start.
That said, it's also OK to be a little disappointed after a win that was a little closer than it probably should have been. It's OK to expect a little more from a team that has played better. And it's OK to talk about it on a message board that was created to talk about BYU football.
There are weirdos, of course, who take it to the extreme, but they seem to be a pretty small minority. At least I'm not noticing a bunch of doom and gloom posts like people are indicating. There are also weirdos who are claiming there should be no disappointment whatsoever, a win is a win, and you are a moron if you express concern with the defense. The majority of people who aren't all sunshine and rainbows about the performance in a game that probably shouldn't have been as close as it was are just concerned going forward that if the defense plays the way it did Saturday then that could be a problem.
Saturday's game was a win. The offense was mostly really good. The defense started off good. But if you aren't a little concerned about the defensive performance in the 2nd half then I'm not sure you were paying attention.
