run a certain scheme or anything. I'm not a coach and I don't know know better than them. All I can do is comment on what I see in the results.
I think the "bend don't break" defense is probably a very frustrating defense to watch because it seems to concede lots of little plays and easily moving the ball. It also chews up lots of time on the clock and keeps the ball out of the hands of the offense. It's frustrating.
Is that the right scheme? I don't know. Do we have to run that because of our personnel and/or the injuries? I have no idea. Maybe. But when it doesn't work you get the second half of the game we saw on Saturday, and that is concerning.
I sure liked to watch the defense better when they sent more pressure and blitzed. It sure seemed more effective. Maybe their strategy from Saturday was better, but it sure seemed like pressuring that QB would have helped. Again, maybe the injuries prevented them from doing that, but the defense on Saturday was super frustrating to watch in the second half.
