at the wrong time?
People have been critical at times of decisions in certain moments but that's the case for any coordinator at any university, isn't it (including Roderick)? Overall the defense has been vastly improved this year and so much more enjoyable to watch. The second half against USF was a bit of a reversion to defenses of old. But if the injuries were to blame for that, and we see more of the 'new' defense against USU/BSU, all will be forgotten.
My plea is simple... Every opponent is going to require a different game plan. Sometimes it may be blitz heavy, sometimes it may not. Sometimes it may require some trickeration, some times it may just be straight up punch you in the mouth. And it's OK if the game plan prepared isn't going so well. Just don't be afraid to mix it up when something isn't working.
In the end, some frustrations may get expressed by the fans, but I think most are willing to 'forgive and forget' after a win and some evidence that changes are occurring.
