Riding UP the canyon on the PRP is OK. Riding DOWN the canyon on the trail is more dangerous than being on the road.

The road has a wide shoulder and sight distances are really good. The trail has joggers, dog walkers, children, etc – many of whom are distracted by either the scenery or their earbuds. Super dangerous to be riding that fast downhill with so much going on. I will ride the highway coming down every time.

I had a pickup roll coal on me in Emigration Canyon a few years back when I was riding my bike down. Dangerous idiots.

No amount of paint is going to keep the peds and bikes in their designated lanes. Any attempt to do that is misguided.
