That’s one of my concerns with Tuiaki’s defense. On short downs he doesn’t always put enough defenders in the box to stop the run. I think it has been slightly better this year. The one we stopped against usu looked like 5 in the box which still isn’t enough. Bywater just made a great play by crashing down past the Ol and holding their injured rb from advancing. A better or uninjured back might push forward and get that.
