Grew up in LA county
My parents (mostly my dad) didn't care much for football, so the Lakers and Dodgers were our teams. We couldn't afford to go to Lakers games, so we would go to a few dodger games a year starting in early to mid 80s. We would almost always wait outside the outfield pavilion where the players parked and wait for autographs. There was an 8-10' high chain link fence so you'd have to either throw items over, or climb the fence and hang over the top. One time, my younger brother was hanging over the fence and accidentally dropped a ball and it landed on the hood of Mariano Duncan's car. I can't remember what kind of car it was, but it was nice. He looks up and kind of shakes his head and then gets in his car and drives off.

I Remember following Orel's scoreless innings streak while I was only 10, somehow knowing that I was witnessing history.

We always sat in right field pavilion and my parents had the opportunity to get tickets to Game 1 1988 WS, the game Gibson hit his famous home run against the big bad A's and Dennis Eckersley. That off-season we all went to a Ford dealership somewhere in downtown LA where Gibby was signing autographs and we all took a Kirk Gibson card for him to sign.

The next year, my mom took me out of school and we went to opening day. We had to buy some scalped tickets and while waiting in line to park a scalper walks down the row of cars holding tickets. my mom asks "how much?" He said "$20." My mom hands him a $20 and says, "$20 for 2, thanks." when we got to our seats, everyone in the seats around us had paid $20 each to the same scalper. Then we hung out after the game and got Orel to sign the ticket stub, which I still have today.

Lots of other good memories of the Dodgers and Chavez Ravine growing up.
