It appears to me that BYU's frustrating late-game defensive performances stem from a combination of factors, including 1) scheme (bend-but-don't-break really struggles to get a motivated offense off the field - and offenses are often motivated late, when the game is on the line) and 2) exhaustion that largely stems from the scheme.
