The NFL can destroy whoever it decides to destroy and forgive whomever it chooses to forgive by how it uses private information that comes into its possession.
Anyone who gets into the crosshairs of a powerful organization (be it a private business or government) can be destroyed when private information is collected and then exposed in a strategic and targeted fashion. That's why a guy like the Dem VA governor can survive pictures of himself in blackface and/or dressed as KKK and someone else with different politics (i.e. Justice Kavanaugh) can be destroyed (or nearly destroyed) with the same kind of evidence or even false allegations. That's how those in power keep people in line - collect information and then use it or threaten to use it as deemed necessary.
