When comparing times, it is about 30-40+ seconds difference.
Less at faster times, more at slower times.
Lately, it also becomes relevant because some online national publications do low effort but perhaps influential (hopefully not influential) “rankings” and will just pull times at the 5k. If a kid has his best race at an atypical distance, it might get lost in the mix.
