You shouldn’t compare times,
And college coaches supposedly don’t.
But XC bloggers and the online websites the kids follow do. So when kids are playing on Instagram or reading Milesplit, that’s all they see. Here is an example. This “ranking” will ignore 3 mile times and great races on slow hilly courses won’t be reflected.
