I might be in the minority here, but my wife and I both work, so we both get what we want, whenever we want, as long as
we can afford it. We usually just get new phones at the same time. I am more into progressive/new tech than she is, but I have never said no to her on a new smart watch, bluetooth listening devices, etc, and she hasn't said no to me as well.
We do well, but are nowhere near rich. $2k-$3k a year on new tech (new phones and ensuing accessories like watches, chargers, cases, bluetooth ear buds) isn't unreasonable for a couple to expect to spend in this day and age.
