I've used Metric Motors in Centerville. Was the best experience I've ever had
with a shop. They rebuilt the cylinder heads on my F150, and kept me up to date and came in on cost almost exactly where the original estimate was.
They aren't a focused genre type shop, but they were so easy to work with. Out front of their shop they have a load of Volkswagen and Subaru's. One of the Volkswagen Vanagon's was from a somewhat popular outdoor, overlanding Youtube channel based out of south central Utah, so that person seems to have picked them based on reputation.
If you're looking to do a straight replacement with a reman or crate motor, or want a full rebuild of the current block, they'll do great.

SLC has a few Cruiser specialty shops. I don't recall their names but should be pretty easy to find with a google search

Call Cruiser Outfitters first, and if they are booked, they have a list of trusted cruiser shops they are wiling to
