Kalani has done a much better job of roster management, IMO.
I know BYU is hard with missions, but man, Bronco never really seemed to figure out how to manage the roster. Like you pointed out, they’d criminally under recruit a position, and then try and make up for it the next year by over recruiting it by adding bodies, even if they weren’t D1 quality.
Maybe it comes down to not being a great recruiter and missing on potential “depth” recruits. Either way, I’m happy the current staff seems to have a better pulse on this.
