...both Ammon Olsen and Brad Sorenson went on to set records at SUU. Brad was an NFL draft pick from an FCS school and spent a few seasons on NFL rosters and Ammon was good enough to at least get an invite to training camp and a shot at making an NFL roster.
Contrast the lack of talented/quality depth at QB in some of those years with the 2019 season where we had such good depth at QB that we were able to win multiple games using our 2nd and 3rd string QB's. It's important for coaches to have that next guy ready to play cuz you never know when you'll need him.
