My electric company is raising rates 8% in Dec. because they get their
electricity from natural gas powered plants. They also are going to begin adjusting rates on a monthly basis instead of yearly, but we shouldn't be too worried because they have agreed that any future rate increases will be capped at a maximum of 20% month over month increase.
