This Texas game is a very good example of how coaches get way too much credit and way too much blame for wins & losses.
Obviously good coaches can take a talented team and manage to get more out of them while a bad coach will struggle to do that but at the end of the day — players and playmakers make the ultimate difference.

Sarkisian is universally known as a “good coach” and even a “great coach” but no matter how good or bad he and other coaches are — they don’t make or miss the tackles. They don’t get to manipulate or engineer if a runningback has exceptional gifts or doesn’t. They don’t teach a guy like Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes etc… how to be a fierce competitor and how to make highlight reel plays when it really matters.

There’s obviously other pieces to the puzzle but bottom line is coaches get more credit and blame than they deserve. LSU wins a title… “Orgeron is an amazing coach!” LSU loses a few games “geez, Orgeron sucks!”

Sarkisian is neither good or bad but the overall situation at Texas pretty much sucks.
