I could have used to pay off the vehicle. It would be dumb to pay off the vehicle when I have a 1.7% rate and can invest that money and make AT LEAST 4%+.

Step one, get a 0% to 4% percent car loan. Step two invest the money you would have spent paying it off. Profit.

Also, it is especially bad to pay off older loans as most of the interest has already been payed.
