Who would like some playing time and the coaches would like to get them some game time. However, they starting players want to play as much as they can.
Tyler, just like any star player, wants and needs the stats. He needs to be in the game to get yards and TD's. The more he plays the better his stats look and the better chance he has to impress the NFL Scouts and get drafted.
The coaches are going to play the star players so they get their stats. That's how it works. If they can play, the star players will be in the game. Tyler only came out because he was beat up and wanted out.
Jackson and other backups will get their chances in due time.
It would be smarter to rest the star players some and play backups more but the star players really badly want to be in the game as much as possible. The coaches have to honor that.
